CamerAI ("we", "the app") is built by an independent developer. This policy explains exactly what data the app collects, what we do with it, and your rights.
Short version: we collect very little, we don't sell anything, we don't run ads, and we don't have user accounts.
CamerAI captures photos with your iPhone camera, transforms them using AI (Google's Gemini model), and lets you save or share the result.
The app uses these device features:
When you tap the shutter with a prompt set, the app sends to our backend:
identifierForVendor, a UUID unique per device per app — not linkable to you personally). Our backend (running on Cloudflare Workers) forwards your photo and prompt to Google Gemini for processing, then returns the generated image to your phone.
We do not store the source photo. We do not store the generated image. The only thing we keep on our backend is a per-device usage counter so we can enforce your monthly quota.
identifierForVendor UUID. Used only for quota enforcement. Resets on the 1st of each month. No personally identifiable information is stored. When the AI generates an image, your photo and prompt pass through Google's Gemini API. Google's data handling for the Gemini API is governed by Google's Generative AI terms. According to those terms, Google does not use API requests to train their models. They may temporarily log requests for abuse prevention.
Generated images from Google's Gemini carry an invisible SynthID watermark — this is built into the model and cannot be disabled.
Because we don't have user accounts and don't store your photos, there's very little we can hand over or delete on request. If you delete the app, all local data goes with it. The only server-side data is your anonymous usage counter, which expires on the 1st of each month anyway.
If you'd like us to manually delete your counter (identified by your device's UUID), email us and we'll do it within 30 days.
CamerAI is rated 12+ and is not designed for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect any data from children.
If we change anything material, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and note the change here.
